Hi! Welcome to my last blog post for this class. a) In this class, I have learned a lot of things about designing a research study. I have never done anything like this before, so it was very interesting to see the different things that go into it. I learned how to write a literature review and about the work that goes into that. It was very cool to read the scholarly journals and learn more about a topic in PTW that I find interesting. I also learned more about how to organize my writing, and I learned about all of the different methods of research. I had heard of several of them, but in this class, I learned a lot more about each one. This class was a very new and interesting experience for me. b) My career plan is to go into copyediting for a book publishing company. This class has taught me how to organize ideas that I have, which may help me help others when they are organizing their ideas for a book. Blog Post 4

  My research proposal is going well so far. I’ve already put in the revisions for the literature review and added that section into the proposal. I’ve also put in the headings for the different sections and got most of the introduction done. I have put in some ideas for the different sections by fleshing out my outline a bit. I’ve been looking for a good guide on how to analyze the different sources I have to fit with what I’m trying to find. I will be meeting with Dr. B on November 6, and we’ll be able to discuss some more ideas for my proposal.

 Hi! Welcome to my third blog post. For my research, there is a population gap that I would like to focus on. In my research, I noticed that there was a lot about cultural differences between countries, but there wasn't a whole lot about specific countries. The countries that were mentioned had very specific examples given. I wanted to focus my research more specifically on the differences between culture in the United States, England, and Australia and how those differences have impacted business' impact and effectiveness in each country. These countries all speak the same language, but there are slight differences in many words and phrases, so I would also like to look at how that has impacted businesses.

Blog Post 1: Topics

Hi! Welcome to my English 3450 blog post. I have always been interested in how language has evolved over the years and how different the same language can be in different countries, so I thought of two different topics that go along with this. One of the ideas I was thinking of doing my project on was language and how it has impacted our society and culture. I could maybe compare and contrast the language of the different countries that speak English, how they have changed over time, and how/why those changes came about. I was also thinking of doing it on how literature has developed over time because of what was happening during the time and the impact it had on society. I could find different articles in the school’s library for research on both of these topics.
